The Day of the Lord is a central theme in this book. Christ is portrayed as the restorer, he will one day set up his kingdom on earth and restore all that was destroyed, the land and all in it. He is serious about his warnings and coming judgment, but promises restoration and will bless all that come to repentance. He promises to pour out his Spirit on all that believe in Him.
