The 66-Book Bible Art Project

The Bible in Art

66 Books. 66 Paintings. One Story.

From Genesis to Revelation, Mindi Oaten painted one work for every book of Scripture—tracing the story of redemption through recurring imagery, symbolism, and the presence of Christ.

The story behind the project

Painting through Scripture, one book at a time.

For two years, Mindi dedicated her studio practice to interpreting the central themes, imagery, and spiritual message of each book of the Bible. The project grew alongside the curriculum of reviveSCHOOL and her connection with Time to Revive, moving through the Old and New Testaments as the study unfolded.

A thread through all sixty-six books

The Garden was there from the beginning.

Throughout the project, Mindi felt the Lord instruct her to carry the Garden through every painting. A flower or plant appears in each work as a quiet thread of His presence and His desire to walk with His people in relationship, as originally intended in Eden.

As the collection developed, other recurring symbols began to carry the story forward—birds and butterflies, crimson fabric, light in darkness, and imagery pointing toward Christ.

“The Garden throughout the entire project.”

A complete collection shown together

Exhibited at the Museum of the Bible

In April 2026, the complete 66-painting collection was presented at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C. during America Reads the Bible, a national weeklong public reading of Scripture.

The private gallery exhibit, The Complete Portrait of the Messiah, brought all sixty-six works together as Scripture was being read aloud—continuing the project’s original purpose of helping people encounter Jesus throughout the whole Bible and return to the Word with fresh eyes.

From Genesis to Revelation

A story moving from Garden to Garden.

The collection follows the continuity of God’s grace in Christ from the opening pages of Scripture to the final vision of restoration. What begins with creation, loss, and separation moves toward redemption, healing, and the invitation of Christ to His Bride.

The Garden that begins in Genesis continues through the collection and reaches its fulfillment in Revelation. The imagery changes from painting to painting, but the story remains connected.
