Nahum — The One who brings Peace

Representative Scripture: Nahum 1:3
Mindi's Reflection
Nahum portrays God as a warrior and judge, serious in tone and will punish his enemies. I wanted to show God as a divine warrior, the God of wrath, in this painting, who comes to rescue his people, destroying the enemy. God is a warrior that cannot be conquered. He is victorious. I also wanted the overall composition to reflect his warrior side as well as his loving, gentle and peaceful nature. “The Lord is slow to anger, but will not leave the guilty unpunished.” (1:3)
When interpreting Jesus in Nahum, I saw him as the One who will stand and rule over all the nations when he returns and brings peace. His divine warrior and loving side combined in one painting.
