Judges — Our Just Judge

Representative Scripture: Judges 2:16-18
Mindi's Reflection
Throughout Judges, we see a persistent cycle of sin that is met with the Lord’s unfailing provision of salvation through a judge. His mercy keeps following failure. Over and over again, the scales balance back and forth, ultimately with the Spirit of God outweighing the corruption and rebellion. (The cycle; the Israelites committed evil, God would punish them by using other nations to oppress them, the people would repent and cry out to the Lord for deliverance from the enemies, the Lord would raise up a leader/judge to deliver them, a time of peace would follow until the judge died and they would fall again.) Jesus is the ultimate Judge and Saviour; his grace extends to meet us in our own cycle of persistent sin. There is nothing that can outweigh his unfailing love and forgiveness to everyone who calls on him.
