The overall composition is a thoughtful representation of choice. The law of God was given to the Israelites, it was up to them to choose to obey or disobey, blessings or curses. The scale is central; giving you the central theme, which way will the scale tip? Jesus is foreshadowed in this book as a prophet. Moses was a type of Christ in this book, leading the people to the edge of the Promised Land, God’s hand on him as he lead the people out of bondage, through his faithfulness and humility, as a mediator between God and man. Jesus gives us the option; choose life in him or death through the curse.
