Zephaniah "The One who Sings Over Us"
The composition of Zephaniah has an overall feel of the coming judgement against the nations and the encouragement of new life through repentance. God “sings” over the humbled people who turn to him. The dominant theme in this book is the “Day of the Lord,” which the prophet sees coming as a result of the sins of Judah. A humbled remnant will be saved through purification by judgment.
