This painting reveals the mystery and majesty of Scripture: the Word of God opened before us, alive and active, just as Hebrews 4:12 declares - “For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any double-edged sword.” The pages seem to stir with breath and light, testifying that these words are Spirit and life (John 6:63).
Resting across the text, the red ribbon is more than a simple marker - it embodies the scarlet thread of redemption woven throughout all of Scripture. It recalls the crimson cord of Rahab, the blood of the Passover lamb, and the cup of the new covenant in Christ’s blood. From Genesis to Revelation, this unbroken thread points to Jesus, the Word made flesh.
Here, the Bible is not a silent book of history but a living presence - light breaking forth, truth unfolding, promises fulfilled. It invites the viewer not only to read but to encounter the Word as a lamp to their feet and a light to their path, a living voice still speaking today.
