A Quiet Glimpse at Something New for Churches & Ministries

A Quiet Glimpse at Something New for Churches & Ministries

For a while now, I have been quietly working on something that has been growing in my heart and studio.

Over the years, I have had the privilege of seeing my artwork carried into places I never could have fully planned for. Churches, prayer gatherings, ministry spaces, retreats and moments of reflection have become places where the paintings are not only viewed, but experienced alongside Scripture, prayer and conversation.

Those moments have stayed with me.

I have watched people stand quietly in front of a painting and take in what the Lord may be speaking to them. I have seen young people slow down, write, reflect and ask questions. I have seen artwork become part of worship, communion and prayer in ways that feel very different from simply hanging a painting on a wall.

Creating Space to Encounter Scripture

That is part of what has led me into this new work.

I have been developing resources for churches and ministries that bring together visual art, Scripture, reflection and prayer. The heart behind it is simple. I want the artwork to help create space for people to slow down, notice, listen and encounter the Word in a visual way.

I do not believe art replaces Scripture. For me, it has always been a way of sitting with Scripture more deeply, noticing what I may have passed over, and allowing an image to hold my attention long enough for reflection and prayer.

Some of what I am creating grows out of collections that have already been part of my journey as an artist, including Behold Him, Restore, and Garden of the Word.

Each collection carries its own story, but I began to see that they could become more than a group of paintings. They could become visual journeys that churches could use in their own spaces, inviting people to move through Scripture slowly and prayerfully.

More Than Something to Look At

As I have worked on this, I have kept returning to the same thought. I do not want these resources to feel like decoration.

I want them to invite participation.

A place to pause beside a painting. A Scripture to sit with. A question to carry into prayer. A table where someone can write or reflect. A visual reminder of the story of Jesus. A quiet space in the middle of a church hallway, sanctuary or gathering where someone might notice something they needed to see.

There are different ways this can take shape, and I am still working through many of the details. Some are designed for physical display and exhibition. Others are being prepared so churches can use the artwork digitally in worship, teaching, reflection and ministry settings.

I have been building the pieces carefully because I want the experience to remain connected to the artwork itself and to the Scripture that inspired it.

A Small Glimpse for Now

I am not quite ready to share everything yet.

There is still work happening behind the scenes, and I want to give it the time and care it needs before I fully introduce it. But I wanted to offer a small glimpse because this has become such a meaningful extension of what I already do as an artist.

Seeing artwork move beyond the studio and into spaces where people gather, worship, pray and encounter Scripture has reminded me again that we do not always know where something we create will eventually be carried.

For Behold Him, that may look like walking visually through the life of Jesus. For Restore, it may become a place to pause with themes of surrender, healing and returning to the Lord. And with Garden of the Word, the hope is to invite people through the story and beauty of Scripture from Genesis to Revelation.

There is something very beautiful to me about seeing people move among the paintings, each person carrying their own story, questions and prayers with them.

I will share more soon, including what I have been building and how churches and ministries will be able to experience these collections in their own spaces.

For now, this is just a quiet first glimpse.

Blessings,
Mindi
