"Authority" | Acts - 'Garden of Grace' mini collection - fine art print
The flower I chose for Acts is a white Columbine. This flower has symbolic meaning in Christianity representing the Holy Spirit.
The Columbine is associated with the praise of God. The spurs on the flower are reminiscent of five doves sitting together and thus of the Holy Spirit. 'Five birds together' was a name for the plant in parts of Austria and the English name, columbine, little dove or dove-like, also alludes to this property.
The Holy Spirit was given to the disciples in the book of Acts, where God gave them authority.
