Frequently Asked Questions
These are a few of the most common questions I get asked. If you have additional questions feel free to email me: email@example.com
Shop Currency? The Shop is in Canadian Dollars, so our awesome U.S. costumers receive the exchange rate on their Credit Card or Paypal account (which is an awesome savings in your favor), you can change the live exchange rate at the top of the website. Beside the search button there is a little tab that shows CAD. You can change this to USD to see the conversion.
HOW DO I BUY AN ORIGINAL? I create many, many paintings each year either painting on stage or paint in studio and release them in collections/or prints several times per year. This will be well advertised beforehand via social media, my blog, and mailing list. These paintings tend to go pretty quickly, so be sure to be prompt!
Originals will be available here.
CAN I COMMISSION A PAINTING
Please use the contact form on this page to contact Mindi Oaten Art, Commissions time is extremely limited.
Commissions take 3-12 weeks to complete, however, keep in mind that the schedule has limited space for the year. Please reply to correspondence in a timely manner to be sure that your commission spot does not pass us by!
Please note that Mindi Oaten retains all rights to the artwork. The commissioner has the right to display the artwork in their home or business. Artwork may not be resold or reproduced for profit in any way without the artist's written permission. Please let me know if you are interested in purchasing full rights to your painting.
PRINT QUALITY & DETAILS: All reproductions in my shop are Giclee reproductions and are created using a huge, very fancy printer that uses a wide range of inks applied so finely you cannot see the dpi a bit and are very long-lasting. They are printed on flat artist canvas and can be matted, dry-mounted, or stretched over wooden stretcher bars. The prints are frequently mistaken for originals. The fine art printer leaves a 1 inch white bleed border on the flat prints so you will never loose any of the artwork when framed.
I have the options to purchase a flat un-matted, unframed print on canvas, as well as the option of a pre-stretched canvas print. Below are photo’s of the two options. Pre-stretched canvas prints are stretched on wood stretcher bars, coated with a UV protected coating and wired to hang.
All Giclee Reproductions are printed to order by a local printing house and take about 12-14 days to arrive back in our studio, package, and to be ship to you.
Please do not use any form of tape (including washi tape) on the front of your new print as it will pull the pigment from the canvas.
YOU WOULD LIKE A LARGER PRINT? The prints in my shop are only available up to 18x24 (Rectangle) and 24x24 (Square) inches. This is because the image quality and the delicacy of the details are very important to me and add to the value of my work.
If you are interested in filling a large area of your wall with my artwork (which is awesome - thank you!!) I recommend putting together a collection of 3-4 pieces. I offer collector discounts on multiple prints. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss that.
