"Step In, Occupy" - painted live at the "Occupy Canada" conference with RIG Canada
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.” Isaiah 43:2
"And he called his servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said until them, occupy until I come." Luke 19:13
"For I will pour out water on a thirsty land and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring and my blessing on your descendants. And they will spring up among the grass like poplars by flowing streams." Isaiah 44:3-4
“Open the east window,” said Elisha. So he opened it and Elisha said, “Shoot!” So he shot. And Elisha declared: “This is the LORD’s arrow of victory, the arrow of victory over Aram, for you shall strike the Arameans in Aphek until you have put an end to them." 2 Kings 13:17
Step in, occupy. Stand firmly in the river of God. Go in deeper… do not be afraid. The perfect spot is in His movement, in the river flowing. Do not hold onto the banks, step in, go further. As the waters rise, you will not be overtaken. Let the rivers of God make a way in the desert.
The Feet: Step in. Occupy. Take ground. Stand for truth. Advance the Kingdom.
The River: Water often symbolizes the flow of the Spirit. The movement, the flow. Step into the movement of what God is doing in this nation. Stand for righteousness and justice in the land.
The Arrows: The arrows in this painting symbolize prayer and declarations being "shot" by God's people to strike the ground. Arrows of the Lord's victory! In a dream, the Lord showed me the target was in the middle of a river where the water was rushing. Stepping out away from the bank of safety, we are to step into the river and flow of His Spirit and movement. In the flow of what He is doing, we must discern the times and seasons and move with it.
Arrows can be used as tactical weapon that offer protection, safety, strategy and of course accuracy. People who use arrows to hunt have developed the gift of patience. Those who wait in hiding for the appropriate time to advance, pull back and aim to hit the target.
The Maple Leaf: A symbol of Canada. Represents unity, healing, and peace. The leaf also marks the beginning of a seasonal shift that will bring new colors to change the surroundings of an atmosphere.
Healing leaves flowing on the river through the nation.
