"Season Shift" - Painted Day 24, reviveWISCONSIN
"You were taught to put off your former way of life, your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be renewed in the spirit of your minds;" (Ephesians 4:22-23)
As the leaves change and fall gracefully to the ground, we too are in a process of shifting in the Body of Christ. Corporately I feel we are in transition of a shift and must get ready for a regeneration of what God is calling the Church into...to awaken. During seasonal shifts, old things must die for new growth to occur. Personally, we must die to our old ways of thinking and renew our minds in Christ Jesus, making way for the new growth to begin. We must die to our own agendas in order to make room for God's plans to unfold.
Interestingly, trees "cut off" their leaves in Fall, it's part of the natural cycle of the tree. They get rid of their leaves because they can't feed them over the winter months. Winter is much like rest for the trees, having shed the old leaves they can then absorb the nutrients in the ground from the leaves that decompose into the soil, preparing for new buds in the Spring. Trees get rid of the old to prepare and make room for the new.
