"Bread of Life" - Painted Day 1007, reviveINDIANA
"Then Jesus declared, "I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty." (John 6:35)
This painting is a book-end to the first painting I did this week during reviveINDIANA. The first paintings was of simple baking ingredients. I felt the Lord speaking to me about the power of simplicity. He chose the metaphor of simple baking ingredients for me to paint. The bread on the table represents many layers. First, it is a picture of Jesus. He is the bread of life, all we need is him. He sustains us, saves us, feeds us. He was showing me the power of who he is in the simplest form, bread.
The feathers represent the Holy Spirit, the angelic assistance the Lord provides for us, and the protection under his mighty wings. The bread also represents God's provision.
"And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:19)
