“God conceals the revelation of his word in the hiding place of his glory. But the honor of kings is revealed by how they thoroughly search out the deeper meaning of all that God says.” Proverbs 25:2
God delights in hiding things for us, and takes pleasure when we search for them. It draws us closer to Him. He wants to be our greatest desire, as we seek Him first, he reveals the “hidden gems” along the way. If God were to hand them all to us at once, we would have no need to seek Him for them.
Psalm 73: 25-26 “Whom have I in heaven but you? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” Above all, God is our greatest portion, our greatest treasure.
This painting is a reminder to look for the gems along the journey. To look closer along the path, to find the gems in the everyday and search them out in God’s Word. The more we discover, the more we search for revelation, the more God uncovers His Glory to us and through us. The journey to discover is just as important as the discovery. It’s where we get to know God in deeper ways.
