Broken, Yet Filled by Mindi Oaten. A symbolic acrylic painting of a cracked clay vessel resting on draped fabric, illuminated from within by golden light shining through its fractures. Delicate white flowers and a floating feather emerge from the vessel, representing healing, surrender, and the Holy Spirit. Inspired by 2 Corinthians 12:9, the artwork reflects God’s strength revealed through human weakness and the beauty of being filled with His presence despite brokenness.

"Broken, Yet Filled" - 24 x 30 inches acrylic on canvas

~

This vessel has known the Potter’s wheel,  the steady turning of hands that shape with purpose.  It has known pressure, the kind that exposes the frailty of clay and leaves fractures where life has pressed hardest.

Yet the Potter did not discard what was broken.

He chose to fill it.

Through every crack, light now shines, not because the vessel is whole, but because it is surrendered.  What once appeared as weakness has become a passage for glory.

“My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” — 2 Corinthians 12:9

This is not a year for the broken to be hidden, but for them to be revealed — as carriers of His power, as vessels filled with His Spirit, as light-bearers in a fractured world.

The cracks tell the story: not of failure, but of faithfulness.

Broken, yet filled.

And shining with His powerful light.
