Part of my Beauty for Ashes collection, Healing Touch is an original mixed media artwork inspired by the promise of Isaiah 61:3—that God exchanges ashes for beauty and gently restores what has been wounded by life’s deepest sorrows.
Healing is often quiet. It rarely comes in a single moment, but through the faithful presence of God as He meets us in our brokenness. Like delicate blooms rising from the ashes, His healing begins where pain once lingered, replacing fear with peace, sorrow with hope, and wounded places with renewed life.
Created with watercolor, charcoal, and genuine gold leaf, each material carries intentional symbolism. The charcoal represents ashes, loss, and the refining seasons we all experience. The watercolor reflects surrender, tenderness, and the gentle work of the Holy Spirit. The gold leaf speaks of redemption, reminding us that God restores beauty, dignity, and purpose to every life entrusted to Him.
The unfinished circle of gold surrounding the flowers symbolizes God’s eternal presence and His ongoing work of restoration. His healing is not merely physical or emotional—it reaches the deepest places of the heart, restoring what only His love can touch.
Healing Touch is the seventh painting in the Beauty for Ashes series, where each flower reflects a unique expression of God’s redeeming work. Every story is different, yet each one proclaims the same hope: nothing surrendered to Christ is ever wasted. He faithfully heals, restores, and makes all things new in His perfect time.
