Jonah "Our Second Chance"
The famous story we all remember as children, Jonah and the whale. I’m not sure how I couldn’t paint some reference to the whale! The composition is pretty self-explanatory when it comes to the setting and storyline of Jonah, a prophet who ran away from God’s instruction to rebuke Nineveh into repentance, but was given a second chance by God’s compassion for him. Jesus is represented as the resurrection in this book, just as Jonah was in the belly of the fish for three days and nights then spit out, Jesus descended into the heart of the earth for three days and nights when he was sacrificed and then rose again. God shows his compassion to us and gives us second chances; ultimately our second chance is through Jesus Christ.
