"A Time for Everything" - fine art print
“He has made everything beautiful in its time.” – Ecclesiastes 3:11
“But I trust in you, Lord; I say, ‘You are my God.’ My times are in your hands.” – Psalm 31:14-15
~
This painting came from a quiet prompting—one I couldn’t shake. I’ve long loved the poetic wisdom of Ecclesiastes 3, but lately it has taken root in a much deeper place in me. I’ve been walking through a personal process of seasons—some I didn’t fully understand. The waiting. The movement. The hidden shifts that only God sees. And yet, through it all, I felt Him whisper: “Trust My timing.”
So I picked up my brush.
This image carries that whisper. An hourglass stands at the center, suspended between what was and what’s to come. Around it, symbols of the seasons unfold—spring blossoms, summer wheat, autumn leaves, and winter branches wrapped in stillness. Each one speaks of a process—of becoming, letting go, resting, and blooming again.
In the foreground, a red apple rests beside an acorn: fruit and seed. Harvest and future. The apple speaks of what is ripe and ready—the visible fruit of a past season’s obedience. The acorn, small and unassuming, holds the potential of a mighty oak within it. It’s a picture of faith in timing—of trusting that what seems small now will one day grow strong, in the right soil, and in the right season.
And just above, a monarch butterfly lifts mid-air, marking the transformation that only happens when we surrender to the process of time.
This is more than a still life. It’s a prophetic picture. I believe we’re in a moment where God is shifting times, seasons, and positions. Not just in our lives personally, but in the Body of Christ globally. What once made sense may no longer fit. What felt like delay may actually be divine alignment. We don’t have to fully understand—we simply need to trust the One who holds time in His hands.
May this painting speak peace to your process. He sees the whole story—even when you’re in between seasons. And He is always, always on time.
