"The Sound of Awakening" - fine art print
Painted during Prophetic Worship Bootcamp, Rig Canada - July 2023
"The word of the Lord came to me: “What do you see, Jeremiah?” “I see the branch of an almond tree,” I replied. The Lord said to me, “You have seen correctly, for I am watching to see that my word is fulfilled.” Jeremiah 1:11-12
For this reason it says,
“Awake, sleeper,
And arise from the dead,
And Christ will shine on you.” Ephesians 4:14
Painting live during this prophetic worship bootcamp, I could feel call of the Lord to awaken, join in heavens call to see and declare what God's will is over this nation. Join in the song singing over us from heaven. I painted the Canadian national bird, the gray jay - as a symbol of natures song rising, along with the worshiper, lifting hands in sacrifice and praise to the Lord. Awaken! Christ shines upon you...
I also painted the almond branch, thinking of Jeremiah's call as a messenger of God, and the first to bloom in springtime. In the Hebrew language, the almond (sha-KED) and for the tree (Eitz haSha-KED or shkaydiYAH) coincidentally has the same root letters as a verb meaning “to be eager, alert, awake, diligent, ready to act.”
The Bible makes a pun on that coincidence. After a frightening vision of destruction, the prophet Jeremiah then sees an almond branch, which he understands to mean that the destruction will come soon (1:12-13). As a nation, we are called to awaken and act for the judgement coming if the nation doesn't repent and turn to God.
Awaken Oh Canada! Release a sound to arise over this nation.
